This winter was 35% colder than normal in January and February and made fuel oil delivery very difficult. Also, the unplanned entry of Natural Gas interruptible customers (commercial/industrial) and Electric Utility Generation Plants buying Heating Oil to meet peak power demands added to the already tight Heating Oil Supply. Refinery Outages, Pipeline Leaks, Frozen Rivers and Harbors, High Winds and the war in Iraq all lead to the unprecedented movement of Heating Oil Prices.

Apgar Oil Company’s focus was to meet every challenge. Our employees worked extended hours from the Thanksgiving/Christmas Holiday right through the cold and windy weather of January and snowy February. Working sometimes late into the night, in poor weather conditions and driving on Ice and Snow covered roads, our goal was to deliver your Oil as promptly as possible and to satisfy all our residential and commercial Heating Oil obligations. With wholesale Oil Suppliers running very low on Oil Inventories, Apgar Oil Company was able to overcome this obstacle by taking full advantage of our “On-Site” Underground Oil Storage Facility. We had access to Heating Oil 24 hours per day/7 days a week. Our network of “Off-Site” Oil Suppliers throughout the Lehigh Valley gave us the flexibility to meet the unpredictable Oil Supply challenges.

Our oil drivers, service department and office staff would like to thank all the many customers who helped make their jobs easier by shoveling out oil -fill locations, marking underground fill-pipes, plowing and salting private roads and driveways, and calling our office to notify us of impassable and hazardous road conditions.
